Get away!

If you’re feeling tired of spending time in the big city, you’re not alone. Living in a large metropolitan city, be it the international and often puzzling London to the industrial Manchester and Liverpool is probably the single most exhausting experience you may go through. Two fold if you need to face traffic everyday just to go to and from your job.

There’s no real cure for the big city blues, but at least you can get away from it for a long weekend or a short holiday every once in a while. And that’s what the countryside is for, right? Going on short 3 or 4 day holidays to tropical countries like the Bahamas, or even a Mediterranean country, isn’t really a very feasible option, as the stress of plane rides and jet lag is likely to leave you more stressed than you were before the holiday started.

And I’m sure the last thing you want is to drive around some more than you already do, but the freedom of a car is something you’ll miss when in the country. So my advice is to get to wherever you want to go by public transport, preferably train, and then rent a car there. And don’t be worried about the prices, since anything out of the big city, for example, an Essex car hire company, is likely to be a lot cheaper than what you expect.
